Description

So here it is, my very first build ever. Yes I was scared to build this thing because I have never hooked anything up to a mother board. About 3/4 of the way through is when I found the manual to the motherboard showing all the pin outs. (Yes I'm an idiot). But non the less, I figured it out and it worked. I wanted to get and build something that will last a while and take my normal gaming to another level.

I had some people at work give me some advice and I took it and then went another level. I'm happy with the build and so far without overclocking, I can reach 120 FPS on Far Cry 4, 133 FPS on the Witcher 3 and 152 FPS on World of Warcraft. All settings are set at Ultra so I'm pretty happy with that. People are asking how am I hitting that FPS without overclocking... I have no damn idea but I'am. Everything I bought from the motherboard, graphics card and RAM are all able to be overclocked.

So I stuck with an MSI build because I really like the red and black dragon logo. The only red LED lights I have in my case are the LEDs from the fans above, the Kraken cooler logo and I believe that is it.

The only issue I ran into is the case wasn't big enough to place the NZXT Kraken X41 cooler on the exhaust or on top. I had to place it in the front of the case with the tubes down, to keep from getting air bubbles.

I place the fan for the cooler on the outside of the cooler so it is pulling cool air into the radiator. I have 2 NZXT 140mm fans on top blowing in and then the one 140MM exhaust fan. So it basically is a positive air flow and the cooling seems pretty good so far, even under heavy gaming. I believe the highest temp so far was 52C.

I went with the 27" Acer 144hx, 1ms refresh rate with NVIDIA G-SYNC. Trust me this monitor does go up to 144hz, I have seen it in game settings.

My first build was horrifying too. This build is really nice though, nice part selection and execution with the build.

Yeah I have gotta say it was an experience and when starting it up for the first time was about how I felt when getting off the plane in Balad, Iraq during Iraqi Freedom.

Thanks for the comment. I tried to keep it real simple for troubleshooting purposes as well. I believe i will go back and change the wires to red and black for that added look.

Hi.. Iam actually building the same. My only concern is the mobo. Did you have any issue with the instalation ? What operating system are you using? Thanks. Mine is the first building too =D

The mother board is awesome. The only issue I had was the liquid cool PC cooler. So this thing comes with a bracket that attached tot he back of the motherboard and fits the holes perfectly. The only issue is that when the bracket goes through the holes, it's suppose to be flush on the other side of the mother boar. This is so when you screw the stand offs for the cooler on the PC Intel chip, it tightens down tight on the Intel chip. Well mine went past the mother board a little so the cooler didn't sit tight against the chip but moved around. So i added washers in the back to stand the bracket off the a little untill it was flush. i used the washer that came with the Kraken cooler. Besides that the mother board is awesome. I'm using Windows 10 as my operating system. If you go with the a cooler use the Corsair. It fits better.
