Description

I use this build for browsing the web, and gaming. I will be adding a a graphics card, I cannot decide between a 290, 780, or waiting for the 880, and I will also be adding an H105. The name if the system is N, for Nick (My name), G, for gaming, and 1, as in my first build(NG1).

that case is begging for watercooling

I do want to water cool it, and I will, but I do not have enough money yet. :( Until I can do a custom loop, I am getting an H105 to replace that crappy stock cooler.

For the GPU, just stick between the 780 and 290 imo. They both perform amazing but the 290 is known to run hotter and louder so if that's something you're against, look at the 780. If that doesn't bother you, just take whichever one is cheaper.

Such an odd case! as far as the name of your build goes I like the Acronym you decided to use, I find it a bit more original and thats whats great about naming your own project or giving it an acronym like you did. Don't bother asking for others help on a name I hate seeing every other build with the name "The Beast" or something stupid like that, most computers called the beast don't even live up to the title.

Love the idea for the name and the case. I'd love to see a custom water cooling loop in this system.

Your cable management looks very good! Nice job on part selection. I don't know what to make of the 750 GB SSD, but I'm sure it's blazing fast! I would have recommended getting a 256 GB SSD and a HDD, since 256 should be enough for all your programs/games and you can easily get a 2-3 TB HDD for not too much.

As for that whole graphics card thing, here is my recommendation: The 780 and the 290 have pretty much the same performance, so just go with whatever fits your needs the best.

An aftermarket 290 and a 780 will be about the same volume wise. Reference coolers are a different story though. But both overclock well and will give you great performance. The 290 may edge out the 780 in gaming at over 1080p, but only slightly.

So just look at what's cheaper do a little research. No point waiting for a card we have no release date on.

I was going to get the 500GB, because that is all I will ever need, but the 750GB had such a good price, and My dad payed for the SSD. :) Thanks for the input on the graphics card. I think I am going to get a 780.

That makes sense!

If you're looking to overclock your whole system, make sure you nab a 780 that will allow you to do that pretty easily. Apart from that, enjoy!

What ever I get, 780 or 290, I'm definitely going to get a Twin Frozr. I love that cooler, and it matches my red/black build. In the future, I'd probably get a reference 880, or AMD equivalent, and put it in a custom loop.

Now that I see the new DCU2 H20 cooler, I might get that, and an H220.

looks solid but I'm not a fan of those stickers though, they look out of place and ruin the aesthetics of the case. My opinion of course

If you go 290 remove the cooler and slap on a water cooling setup.

Nice name. I'd go with a 780 over a 290, but the 800 series isn't going to be released for quite some time now, so you're going to be waiting for a while.

I love it too. It was well worth the high price tag, and I'd suggest it to anyone. It was a dream to build in, and it is built like a tank. All that, and it looks good too!

Cool. I cant wait to see it! I love small form factor builds, but I do wish I had the option of SLI, or Crossfire.
