Description

6 months and $1600 later I have finished my first rig. I am installing all of my favorite games and will start up some videos...

NEW: I am replacing parts to put into a new budget build so if parts look different or are missing that is why.

Great build. I would have probably went for a FX-8350 and 990FX mobo. With that cooler I will recommend overclock. Oh and that monitor looks awsome. As the others said, GET IT OFF THE CARPET!

agreed but a piece of wood down under the Computer expectantly if you PUS fan is down. You can starve the PUS and fry it. Also very well balanced PC just need pic of the inside of the case.

Unless he has the PSU the other way around. Some people prefer it. And you know... he's not stupid enough to burn his computer... I hope.

Nice choices, but wow that cooler is expensive. Do you live somewhere with really hot summers?

Why 1333 not 1600 RAM?

Wired mice are faster. Just fyi.

Wired mice aren't noticeably faster. They used to be, but I found that wireless mice have gotten faster and more reliable-- doesn't mean I'm giving up my DeathAdder, though :p

My wireless mouse -while not a gaming one- actually lags a lot when I play on minecraft servers.

I doubt it's the mouse.

I bought a logitech M705 for $25 for my Mac, and I got no lag in minecraft.

I think it's the surface it's on, because it only happens with that mouse in that place. For reference, it's a Logitech m515.

I can upload some inside and outside pics by tonight or tomorrow I'm at my father's house this weekend (divorce). I'll find some ply wood or something to get it off the carpet. The barracuda drives are great with space but I am using the SSD to read and right everything. I live kinda near the coast (an hour+ drive) I use that heat sink because I am playing some graphic and cpu intensive games. For the memory when I picked up the original one I was going to get they gave me those and I forgot what ram it was (1333 or 1600) so I picked the first one with the same model #. I am using a wireless mouse because my arm and stuff around my desk gets tangled up in the mouse cable also I can't connect to my TV and sit in the back of the room with a wired mouse. :P

I very much like the parts you picked for this pc. May I ask how that monitor is working out, I like the design but not sure.

it is great. Picked it up at a place called Central Computers. Nice big screen, had to mess around a bit but i got the full screen size. The buttons are very sensitive so i don't even need to touch them just the corner in front of them. The logos look kinda like touch buttons so watch out. It is a two piece you have to put together but it is easy. It comes with a headphone jack cable, power supply, and a hdmi to vga cable.

EDIT: I put some cardboard underneath it...

Great build. I just don't like how you cheaped out on the RAM. 8GB of 1600Mhz RAM is about standard nowadays. You also could've lowered your PSU. But like I said, this build is good.

I like the 8320/7950 Combo. Good choices. Would love to see some in the case pics.

rather than 2 seagate barracuda 1TB hard drives, you could have got 1 Seagate Barracuda 2TB hard drive for £53.99, and saved a lot of money! http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st2000dm001

It works very well. No ghosting what so ever and it is not at an overwhelming size.
