Description

I like this build. I just had some parts laying around so WTH! I just completed my little micro machine and got it booted up pretty easily. Seriously, my first ever build even though I always wanted to make my own. After rebuilding our house after TS Allison and then again after Hurricane Harvey, I figured I’m gonna just frickin’ do it. I’m tired of Dell and HP, you know.? It was fun. Thanks to PCPartPicker and their online builder, even a dude like me can build a fully functional PC. Maybe I’ll update the CPU and graphics later. I should be able to switch out a 3000 series and a late model GPU, right? And anyway, I already built a Pi bartop arcade, so yeah, I like to play. I like these parts. I went cheap. Got some better deals than you see on the list. Everything was new except Windows and the old Dell monitor I was using. (The new MSI screen is shipped!) Oh yeah, I do have a used 3TB drive at the bottom. That holds all my backups. And even though it’s not important, I lit up the five fans I have spinning with MysticLight RGB’s. (I turn them off when the wife walks by.) Anyways, I don’t know what to expect for the future. Maybe y’all have some suggestions. Right now I’m painting the Datsun 280Z I was building before Harvey hit. (Did I say we’ve flooded twice?) If I get her back on the road I’ll be fulfilled. I mean, I love my wife and 3 children and 1 dog. So there it is. Hope someone can use this information for the good of humanity. Take care fellow Pickers.

Not a bad build! I used the athlon 200ge to build my parents a pc and paired it with an rx460 and the pc is fast! I would advise another stick of ram. Dual channel memory configurations are faster than single stick.

Thanks for the advice. Wanted to stay in a $500 budget. So ignoring Windows 10 and the monitor, I was well under $500. That leaves me maybe $90 for the RX460 or higher and another $35 ram.

Nice. If you got the ARCTIC Alpine AM4 Passive, you could get rid of all those fans. I have one and it be noice.
