Description

This is my first PC build, which I am satisfied with the outcome. I decided to go with a green and black theme. I love razer products, which you can see in the picture and decided to build my theme around that. the build took me a couple hours, but was a fun process. I recommend this case to everyone looking for a clean computer look. my budget could not over 900 dollars and the plan for this PC build was to max out every game on ultra settings with good fps... and it has not failed me. I kept the stock CPU cooler since I am not overclocking. The GPU is perfect for 1080p gaming ... it can max out any game without any problems and I think the CPU and GPU I picked go well together. Overall the build was a fun experience and plan on building more in the future.... If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

I normally skip over Intel builds since they lack creativity, mostly just people copying each other's part lists. Your build on the other hand caught my attention on the first pic, you did a really good job epically for a first build. +1 for sure.

http://pcpartpicker.com/b/FrQV3C Definitely copying someone else.... http://pcpartpicker.com/b/ftFdnQ

I understand what you mean by that, but there are builds that are very creative and impressive, and you're skipping builds that have the most power. No AMD CPU can compete with a 5960x that I've ever heard of

I skip over most FX builds as well, I will pay attention to the Pentium builds and the APU builds (sometimes an i3). Those builds normally have the most heart and creativity about them. Someone who can toss 4k at a PC is not being creative, they are buying everything that will work rather then figuring something out.

As far as rating a CPU it depends on what you are doing with it, you also have to consider cost. The i7-5960x is a 1k CPU, it is only about 15-20% (general benchmarking, no OCing) faster then the FX9590 which is a quarter the price. Also the AM3+ chip set is much older then the LGA 2011-v3. The x5960 is a great chip but will never keep up with AMD in terms of cost to performance.

Love the green man.

Do you run both monitors for your games? If so what are they? Im looking to get a dual mon setup going soon

I only run the middle monitor for games and the side one for music playlist/web browsing and other little tasks. also the side one is only 720p while the Main middle monitor is 1080p.

Ahh I see. Wouldnt have any problems running 2 with that 4gb card in case you ever decide to.

Yeah, I think i would just go 1 1440p monitor instead of 2 monitors If i was going to upgrade

3.5GB*

sorry I had to

I mean technically it still has 4 but the .5 is 10 times slower than the 3.5 :P

Hahaha oh no worries you're absolutely correct. My apologies

I have a 970 and yes, I can max any game but not with 60 fps. Witcher 3, planetside 2, tera I have to turn down some settings to get steady 60+! Maybe my card is the runt of the litter shrug

What CPU do you have?

4690k

I was about to say I always get 60 in it, then I realized that I wasn't playing at 1080p :P

  • 1 point

I get 50-60 frames in Witcher 3 maxed. i5 4690k and same GPU as this build. My CPU and GPU are both overclocked. My mobo may not be able to handle the overclock tho cuz Witcher 3 does crash occasionally on me.

Wish I didn't skimp out on the mobo, especially since that is the biggest pain in the *** part to replace. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WpzhNG

Maxed out would imply hair works and vsync being on and AA set to highest, and everything on ultra. I tried that and got 35-45fps lol. Same gpu/cpu. Guess silicone lottery is real shrug

Yes, everything is maxed including those. Except for Shadow quality, which is on high. only time mine dips below 45fps is dialogues and cut-scenes.

That lighting looks amazing... I can only imagine what it would look like with the Razer H440.

nice config , for 30$ less you could take the Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor, who has kinda same performance ...

I only paid less for 4590 then i would for the 4460 because Micro center was selling it a lot cheaper in store pickup, which is why id decided to go with the 4590 being the cheaper i5 and partially better one as well.

how are you finding the stock cooler noise wise?

  • 1 point

The stock cooler is actually really quiet. the case fans are louder and the stock cooler making it do you cant even here the stock cooling at all.

Love the build, but if you had the extra money you should have carried on the Razer theme and bought the NZXT H440 Razer.

the cost differences in my case and razer case was too big, plus this case is amazing for such a cheap price.
