Description

UPDATE: Adding my Asus 1070 ROG strix OC edition, my nzxt HUE+ led dtrip bundle!

I build this first for work , building websites, web-applications, Android apps etc. I am a software developer and i game when i got time to spend. (i got a ps4 but there is a lot of game i want to try on PC with custom mods like in skyrim)

I got 2 ssd, cheap but with good speed, reliability and reviews (on internet). 120gb just to boot windows and the other one for Ubuntu.

I already had some hdd but i will buy some later (1 or 2 terrabytes) for pics/music/videos.

I bought the i7 6700k because it's faster than the i5 6600k in a lot of working scenarios (deploying servers like tomcat in J2EE environment or using some emulation software). And of course i will upgrade my rig with some watercooling and overclocking later.

The motherboard was cheaper than the Asus z170-A the day i wanted to buy so i choose it, and i love this board! plenty of ports, OC ready, SLi, Usb 3.1 , M.2, everything i wished for! And the ligthning effect is pretty!

The case is the best case of 2014, big as i like, white and black, plenty of room (worries free) and beautyfull. 2usb 3.0 ans another 2 usb2.0 and i wanted to have at least two 5.25 drive bay. All of that for 120 $CAD + taxes and shipping around 150$. It was a good deal and i love it!

The cooler is one off the most recommended (best value) and this is the dual fan version and last update of the original 212 Evo. Works flawless!

The ram works and it's black and white! nothing else to say.

The PSu is one off the best! Gold and modular and 10 years of fwarranty! 750W is more than enough even with the gtx 1070 i want to buy, even with 2 of them.

I am looking for an i7 without a lot of fan noise. Does this keep pretty quiet doing dev work?

lebaron2012 submitter 1 Build 1 point 16 months ago

yes, with the 212 evo dual fan cooler, it's pretty silent! you won't notice the sound when idle. When you run some heavy task it could be noisy but not too much and just for severales seconds...

Thank you

I personally would've gotten the i5 for like a hundred usd less and overclocked it to be faster than the stock i7. Also I would've gotten two of the Atdata, just bc of the 8gb for no extra charge

i wanted the i5 but i got a good deal with the i7. And trust me it's really fast! For gaming there is no differences bettween them but with others task... i am sure the i7 could save you some few secs.

And for the ssds i wasn't sur about which one to choose. And the hynix one has some good reviews on internet for the price/performance.
