Description

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K OC (4.7 GHZ): My first PC I built two years ago was with an FX 8320. I have to say I love the new I5 its very fast in most tasks. However I really haven't seen any difference in games because the 8320 kept my monitor at 60 FPS. I do notice the difference in a Madden editor I use it takes about half as long as my old PC.

CPU Cooler: Deepcool CAPTAIN 240: This All in one is keeping the i5 nice and cool. I chose it mainly on how it fit with my build. The 8320 had a better All in one the H100i but I was looking more at asthetics at the time. I plan on upgrading to the h240 x-2 or the 320 x-2 in the future.

Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING M7: Probably my favorite piece I have mainly because I bought it for $79 USD on ebay with a bent pin. I had no problem fixing the pin and it booted right up. All the RAM channels work as well. I figured the worst thing that could happen is I wasted 70 bucks.

Memory: GeIL SUPER LUCE 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory: OC 2666 MHZ I have 2 sets one is black with red LEDS, the other is black with white LEDS.

Storage: Samsung 950 PRO 256GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive: Using it as my boot drive, really haven't seen any difference between that and my old 840 EVO thats going in my HTPC build coming up. It gets great scores when I ran CrystalDiskMark but other than that it looks cool.

Storage: Sandisk Ultra II 480GB 2.5" Solid State Drive: I use this for all of my games on my computer I plan on adding another one in RAID 0 in the future. I wanted to get away from mechanical drives all together.

Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 390X 8GB Video Card: It was between this and the 980TI for me I love how the MSI cards look and it games great. Going with this is what opened my budget up for the 950 pro.

Case: Fractal Design Define R5 w/Window (Black): My second fractal case I had the Define R4 earlier last year and have been using this case since my last build.

Power Supply: Antec EDG 650W 80+ Gold: Based on a Seasonic PSU and it matches my system well. This was another step back from my old PSU thats still sitting here and AX860 but was really going for looks on this one.

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM (64-bit): It's windows not much else to say.

Case Fan: Fractal Design GP14-WT 68.4 CFM 140mm Fan: Hold overs from my previous build. I plan on going with some RIING RGB fans in the future.

Monitor: ViewSonic VA2855SMH: Recieved this for free for building a PC for a customer as a tip, I will be upgrading to 1440p in the future.

Keyboard: Corsair STRAFE RGB. Amazing keyboard and my first mechanical.

Mouse: Razer DeathAdder Chroma: I've tried quite a few mice over the past few years and I like the way this one feels in my hand.

Overall I'm happy with the way it turned out and looks nice sitting here. I'll probably be parting it out sometime next year to move onto something newer. In 2 years I have switched computers almost 4 times and almost like the build more than using it. Only other thing I have ordered from IceModz is sleeved PSU cables he will be making me a set for the Antec PSU

You should flip the PSU so fan is intaking cold air from the bottom and not fighting for air with the GPU..

BTW very nice build!

This was another step back from my old PSU thats still sitting here and AX860 but was really going for looks on this one.

Exactly.. the AX860 which is also a seasonic unit is better.

Very nice! I went the same route with my build and got the DeepCool Captain 240 as well. :-)

Great build! Since you went for a red/white/black theme, I think the better motherboard would have been the G1 Gaming series by Gigabyte.

PS: Love the power supply - I have it too.

It would of been between the Gigabyte and the M7. I have had my eye on both of those motherboards for a while. I just got the M7 for 79.99 and couldn't pass it up at that price.

No that was more of curiosity that killed the cat type of thing but I will be able to move it onto future builds so I am ok with the purchase even though I should of went I7 instead of the 950 pro.

Even though the reviews show it not performing as high as some other closed look coolers my temps are at 25c idle and with GTA v or any other game the highest I have seen is 59-61c. That's with a 4.7 stable OC at 1.38v
