Description

This was my first build and I was able to find some pretty decent prices on parts. At first, I planned to buy a laptop that I could game and be productive on. However, I ended up convincing my GF a desktop would be a better value for the money, plus using a smaller case wouldn't have it take up too much space. So it began!

I originally was going to just use a GTX 970, but I was lucky enough to refresh the page to an EVGA GTX 1080 that was in stock. So yup, that happened!

If I didn't do the push/pull setup with the radiator, I could have saved some money. I also probably would have been able to mount the CPU cooler the correct way, but those lines are pretty stiff. I'd rather not twist them and risk damaging them.

Booting from the SM951 is pretty amazing, games are playing great so far, and looking forward to having this setup serve me a year or so. This was so much fun to build, I'm looking forward to my next build already!

When you say you're "...looking forward to having this setup server me a year or so.", do you mean you plan on upgrading in a year? Or that the computer itself will not last very long in terms of being up to date and has adequate performance?

Good question! It might be a little of both? In all my hobbies, I always enjoyed building or modifying things. I'm trying to resist from making changes, although, I kind of failed that already as I added a Samsung 850 pro.

In a year, I'm sure performance would still be fine for gaming, video, and photo editing. However I'm really curious about trying an SLI setup along with more liquid cooling, and a smaller case. Really no reason for me to do any of that right now, but I'm still tempted!

I'm using a pcie 512gb drive, but later added in a Samsung 850 pro 512gb.

With the push pull on the H100i V2 is it possible to have the HDD cage in there as well?

Sorry for the late reply, unfortunately, it won't fit the hdd cage with that setup

Hej Hescobal

I have almost the same config, and I have a question about your h100i v2. What do you think about it? So is it enough silent, efficient, etc. And I have the same redux coolers then U, but these aren't high static pressure air coolers. So I don't think that enough efficient for your h100i v2 radiator. Maybe U should use industrials from noctua.

Hey man I have the same case and power supply and wanted to know how you got the cables so clean? And where did you route the motherboard cable?? I can't put the back panel on when I route it behind the motherboard. Please update with pictures of management?

Hey there, I will definitely try and get you some better pics soon. It definitely isn't an easy feat to route wires in the back! This was best as I could do, but I'll try and get it a little better. I will say though it is a mess in the back though

I managed mine the same way, this case is not very good for management. Do you know any matx cases with great cable management?
