I built this beast to try to compete with a friend who loves his i7 2700K. I pushed this system to the max and it performed well, the idle cpu temps were achieved by keeping the ambient room temps low (cheating) and a fan was blowing on the front of the case that is sitting on two blocks of wood to keep it off the floor. Keeping in theory that cold air stays low it helped keep temps low. My only drawback was the video card. Other than that this system works really well for me, it not only served as my file server for my home but also my main gaming pc. I do however miss playing with Intel chips.
This build is retired and sitting in my closet waiting on me to build it back up again as a gaming PC for my Step-Son. The pictures are of this build taken apart sorry!
