Description

The idea of this build would be based off one of my favorite Marvel characters. This was my first build ever. I switched from console gaming (PS4), to something that is going to last me a long time. Since this was an original Hulk themed build, the Green NZXT H440 was the perfect fit. The motherboard (Gigabyte Game Plus) was never released in the States. I had it shipped from the UK and it took three weeks. Which was ok because it gave me a lot of time to shop around for great deals. Reddit PC Deals was a great tool I used for promotions. Everything in this build was on sale at a massive discount either using Newegg, Jet.com, Amazon, and NCIXUS.

I custom painted my Corsair fan rings green to match and even was able to spray the H105 to keep it all uniform. The Mushkin 1TB Reactor was a nice touch as this is a Gamma Core and all and a hint of purple from the GPU and Motherboard cables. And to give it that extra flare, I installed the NZXT Hue+ which I am incredibly happy with. There are a lot of customization options and it apparently had a small software update to make customization easier. Overall I am incredibly happy how this came out and I'm happy to share these pictures with you guys.

Also, big thanks to PC Part Picker for all the reviews and compatibility algorithm to ensure I was nabbing the right parts! Hulk out!

Thank you! Also, where did you get that cool wallpaper?

I believe I got it from a Reddit post. It was some time ago so I can't pinpoint which subreddit it was.

Looks like you got the top comment on this feature at the right time! 46 upvotes (47 points) as of right now... that's impressive. Well played.

Thank you! I'm very surprised it got that high, never expected that. Also, have you noticed that you have more karma than comments?

Pls not this PC, here, take a different one. A toughbook. That should last around three more seconds than normal.

Edit spelling.

Jesus christ grandmas on ice skates nice build.

johngerges582 4 points 21 months ago

This makes me wish Gigabyte stuck with their green stuff.

Excellent build. +1

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

100% agree. And thank you!

vagabond139 5 Builds 3 points 21 months ago

What a lovely build with a unique color scheme. +1.

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Thank you! I wanted to make it unique.

RaspberryPiFan 8 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

Nice build. +1 How is that SSD treating you?

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

I did a lot of research. The SSD is fast. Great reviews online. I compared vs the Evo but I was coming from an HDD, the difference would have been big for me anyways. Its' running well and it's super quick.

RaspberryPiFan 8 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

I agree that SSDs are fast... I have a cheap Corsair 40GB and I see a large difference from my HDD.

shpong 2 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

Where did you get it $208 though?

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

You can purchase items from Jet.com and use the code APPLE15 and get 15% off of your purchase. That's how I got the price.

NuclearChinchilla 0 points 21 months ago

my question too, only death with samsung SSDs before

swans_to_be_kind 3 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

ooO000ooO baby! Besides being so sexy nice part selection!!

shanepl 2 points 21 months ago

How do you like the gpu model so far?

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 2 points 21 months ago

The style and design is great! It fit's perfect for the theme and performs better than expected!

philphaser 12 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

You could still give it some color. ; )

UnicornWarriorrr 2 points 21 months ago

Beautful! Love the original color scheme!

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Thank you!

ThugginMcMuffin 3 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

I forgot that Gigabyte made that motherboard, thanks for using something that you don't see to often!

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Yeah it was incredibly hard to find

mtrapuzz 3 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

Maybe try to match the fan rings a little better but I like it.

Valiant_ 3 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

Nicely done all for under 2k! I am quite jealous i want to do a green build as green is my favorite color. Enjoy this is awesome!

Edit: the only thing i would have done differently is had a set of black ram and only one set of green ram. But hey im strange like that

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Ha I get it! Black would have worked well too :)

ABundleOfBunnies 1 Build 2 points 21 months ago

hulk smash? i really like the purple and green stuff going on here. Its kinda a new one like manirelli said.

rhali8 2 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

Logic: Spends $1900 on a computer. $30 on keyboard and mouse :D

Ok, jokes aside, this build is AWESOME. I dig it.

Just on a side note, what did you use for photos? :D

+1

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

LOL! Well I was using an Amazon Basic Keyboard and Mouse before this one so this is a huge upgrade for me lol! And I used the Sony Coolpix that was lying around and an iPhone 6 Plus for some photos.

rhali8 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

lol. I am actually typing on a devastator ATM too.

I used an iPhone 6 to take shots of my build, but it didn't turn out that amazing. I might try photo shopping my next build, so the photos can look nicer. :)

EternalRest 2 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

Beautiful build. How's the Mushkin Reactor? Thinking about buying it soon.

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

I adore it! Looks badass and it lived up to my expectations.

Fwesh 2 points 21 months ago

Colours looking really nice, its great to see a unique colour scheme around.

Top job son the all the cable management and assembly. Looks sweet! +1

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Thank you! And I actually had bought Cable Combs from Cable Mods for this build but they ended up being too small. But the braided PSU cables seemed to hold up without them.

Fwesh 1 point 21 months ago

That's lucky, my cable mod cables do a horrible job at holding up. I got combs and cable ties everywhere!

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Ha! The combs I purchased don't even fit the braided cables so I have no use for them. They hold up on their own thankfully.

VonKessler 1 Build 2 points 21 months ago

"Do you wanna know how I got this PC??" -CyberJoker. Nice job on the color scheme, albeit using the Hulk as your inspiration... (Iron Man fan). +1 Would use this anyday.

joshbaker 2 points 21 months ago

love it! but to keep the theme going you should paint the white rings on your speakers they stick out like a sore thumb

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Ha! Im trying to take the rings off as we speak. Great idea! If I can pry them off, they will be getting a layer of spray!

ActuallyImJerome 2 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

0/10 not green/purple enough

jk nice build

Mi_ga 1 point 21 months ago

Soo sexy, but purple LEDs would make it breathtaking

Love the part selection

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Thank you! And I did think about black-lighting, but I didn't want to be stuck with just one color. With the Hue Plus, all the LED's are entirely customizable even to each LED.

SmartWolf 1 point 21 months ago

Haha, looks like a fun build! Well done young man! (presumably)

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Ha! I wish. Since 1988 :)

diesel98a 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Nice color scheme!! I like it a lot.

SquareOreo 1 point 21 months ago

Green and purple...

Never seen that one but it definitely looks great!

znd125 3 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Great color matching!

Pyromaniac579 1 point 21 months ago

love the colors!

Gooberdad 7 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Nice job. +1

quzar469 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

NICE BUILD BRUH

Quickie 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

I love this build, I was always looking for a black/green motherboard and could never find one.

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Gigabyte makes great ones. And come to think of it, they are the only ones that make green I think?

floridaboz 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

wow, really well done.

KB_Evolved 5 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

It's not easy going with any color outside of white black red and blue so I give props for that. A custom loop in this build would be set. I'm getting parts together to throw a purple loop in my red and purple system but it's not cheap. One of the only ways for me to get more purple outside of painting more of my case.

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Sounds awesome! Would certainly love to see that!

SweetDaddyD94 1 point 21 months ago

really like the black, green, and purple mix how's the navida drivers holding out for ya? and also how's the power supply and motherboard but anyway congrats on getting featured as well :D oh and #69th like lel had to say that

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks! And they are holding up well and the Rosewill PSU is amazing. Everything runs so quiet.

oldgregggggg 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Great build but uh....don't you have you're rear exhaust fan on backwards..?

joshbaker 1 point 21 months ago

he's probably using it as in intake thats what im doing

oldgregggggg 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Maybe but still, just lookin out. Plus it's like the least optimal thing you can do in the H440 since it has some trouble with airflow.

svtcobra91 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Two words WOW and AWESOME.Nice build.

Kevin1807 1 point 21 months ago

its a shame you had to buy the cm storm devastator, with this budget, it would make sense to get a high end mechanical keyboard....

philphaser 12 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Green is my favorite color! Also love the purple cables!
Also: you're a dj? Where can we see videos / hear mixes?

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 2 points 21 months ago

Ha! Thank you and no. Just an old name that stuck with me throughout the years.

supratikn 1 point 21 months ago

10/10 build right here. Congrats for getting featured!

supratikn 1 point 21 months ago

Where in the UK did you shop for this motherboard?

PyreUK6 1 point 21 months ago

you can buy it on amazon

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

You can purchase from Amazon if they are in stock. I had to grab mine from eBay and it was shipped Royal Air.

Xeph 1 point 21 months ago

indeed very clean cable management and good job on getting a consistent colour scheme.. i just dont personally like the colour scheme xD

DanSmith1302 1 point 21 months ago

This Build was executed perfectly, green is one of my favorite colors and It is becoming harder and harder to get a good match of colors in a green themed build. Very well done it looks amazing!

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks! And I know there are a ton of red schemes out there. Builders are almost forced to use red somewhat because every motherboard seems to be red. And green is and always will be my go to color :)

PyreUK6 1 point 21 months ago

This is one of the most unique (in a good way) computer's I've ever seen.

Also, it reminds me of the joker as well!

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Yes! Joker is awesome as well! But I like to be Hulked out better :)

GasTankKiller 1 point 21 months ago

Looks awesome. The color scheme works very well.

jakethegreat 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Amazing color scheme! Good job dude!

ThinkWithPortals 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

What an excellent build! So nice to see a build with a bit of a different colour scheme. So many red and black and blue and black builds, this is like a breath of fresh air :)

SaintsEnd 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Nice stuff,

I think you should have gone with the Zotac Amp extreme instead of the reference model to have a better performing and quieter card(I guess hulk was never very quiet though), That card has a monster heatsink. (appropriate for hulk)

I also think you should have gone with a better quality psu (Hope you're lucky with the sleeve bearing fan) with a better ripple suppresion which would mean a better overclock. Still a pretty good psu though.

turkey3 3 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

How does better ripple suppression equate to a better overclock?

SaintsEnd 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Basically, dips in volts can occur due to ripples. these dips in voltage can cause your psu to not output the required voltage for the overclock, requiring a higher vcore to achieve the same overclock as a psu being able to use less vcore with less ripple. If you have to use more voltage, then there is less room to overclock with due to thermal limitations.

Read this thread here, it does a great job of explaining it. http://www.overclock.net/t/719397/on-ripple-and-its-effects-on-overclocking

Znait 1 point 21 months ago

Sub $2k 980ti build, me likey likey. You are giving great ideas for people on flimsy budgets that really want a 980ti!

rel82meboo 1 point 21 months ago

love the pc..thinking of stealing it for my own setup thanx ;)

juanra1409 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Very pleasing build, nicelly done! +1

LazyGalen 1 point 21 months ago

This is incredibly well done! +1 I love the lighting, the cables, and reactor solid state. Just to take the theme over the top, the corsair logo with MARVEL, and nzxt with the incredible HULK! Thanks for sharing DjTechnics, this is mint!

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Appreciate it LazyGalen!

joelhowell 1 point 21 months ago

It's about time to see something besides either complete crap or black and red lol !

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

100% Agree! We need some mean green up in here!

brando2336 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

This pc build is one of my favorite builds because even though the blue and green dont seem to match up on paper, you did a wonderful job to seamlessly blend it together 10/10 IGN

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

The color is purple in person but I think the camera made it a bit blue. However, I agree! Both colors actually work flawlessly. And the NZXT Hue + gives me my color freedom lol

SpecificAlduin 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Woo! Featured! Looks awesome.

Scorpiiious 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

****. Yeah. Featured :)

Love the Green and Purple theme you did <3

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks boss! Appreciated!

Monica_ 1 point 21 months ago

DAAAAAAAANG! Goes to show you can stick with a great color scheme without having to sacrifice performance. Love it! Btw, was your experience with Jet good?

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Jet was awesome! I know there are mixed reviews depending on who you are getting your item from. However, all my parts I purchased from Jet came within 3 days AND I was able to get 15% off certain parts. This is why the 4790k and the Muhkin 1TB Reactor are listed incredibly low in my build.

Monica_ 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks a lot! I'm gonna buy a 390 from there now, at $271 with a code :D

Ghrolt 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Nice!

Sm0rris99 1 point 21 months ago

Great build and I haven't seen that cool of a color scheme before!

Vivilacqua1 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Nice color coordinated build, finally someone does one right. +1

loserizer 1 point 21 months ago

Nice build -- you got an imgur link to those wallpapers?

C.higgins23 1 point 21 months ago

Honestly, this computer is one of those computers that you just stare at for a solid 10 minutes, and wonder how a computer can be such a beauty... +1

Motexteile 1 point 20 months ago

Can this handle 4k Gaming?

scooder 1 point 14 months ago

Hey, I just picked up the Mushkin 1TB SSD you have. How is yours running so far? Any complaints? You use it for all your storage (OS/games/etc)?

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 2 points 13 months ago

I haven't had any problems with the Mushkin 1TB SSD. It's been smooth and a dream to use. So much faster than my old HHD. It's a great budget SSD!

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

It was sprayed lol

philphaser 12 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

I also wondered, since image #1 shows the fans boxed with green rings. Guess he cheated there. ; )

DjTechnics submitter 1 Build 2 points 21 months ago

Both sprayed. Fans came with white rings and so did the H105. I used Rust-Oleum Fluorescent Bright Green Neon for them :)
