Use it for gaming and work. Works like a charm, no hiccups and nice and smooth everything.
800 dollar keyboard??? A KEYBOARD O__O
Haha, I got it from a friend for free 3 years ago :P
It's a really nice keyboard, and I don't regret it (though, how can you regret a free gift?)
im sure they werent that much back 3 years ago
why is that keyboard worth so damn much????? nice build btw!!!
1000 watt psu is way too much for your parts listed, also I'm not sure if cougar is reliable brand, could of went with a corsair, sea sonic, or xfx
Oh and some cable management can be a good idea for your build
The CMX1000 was cheaper than a 500 Watt at the time of purchase. More wattage doesn't hurt anything, and I am aware of the 'faulty-ness' or Cougar, but the majority of problems from Cougar are DOAs. If it runs more than a month or two, it should be fine (it's been running for 3 months, as of now). For the cable management, I am aware of that! I can't really do much with such an old case, though.
Yea more power doesn't hurt, but I believe your psu runs more efficient at 80% or more load
Why not 1600 RAM? It's usually cheaper and faster.
1333 is fine with me. 8gb was around $20 at the time of purchase (I bought all the parts over a 4 month period, to get the best deals :P)
Nice build. Personally, I'm an Intel guy, but I do like this system. That keyboard shows to be really expensive...It's almost more than the hardware for the system. If I was going to spend $1700 (which I'm guessing you paid much less then that)I would have sprung for a GTX 670/680
I was going to get Intel, but the 6300 was such a good deal at the time :o
Er, you bought a deathstart for a HDD, also they are Hitachi not westen digital drives.. no wonder you couldn't find it in the list, they are there. Also the keyboards price is pulled from amazon.. who obviously have a dodgy dealer as the only stock for it.. normally it seems to be about $60
I know. I bought a lot of 'sketchy' stuff (greenboxed MoBo, not-so-trusted power supply, HDD, etc.) but it's working out quite well so far :3
Just an FYI: All this stuff was bought for $700. And my keyboard was a gift (around $70 at the time of purchase).
How did you get an X6 for $70? Is that even a sidewinder x6?
Yeah it is, brah. Look at the picture.
how did you get it for $70 lol?
3 years ago, lol
AMD might not make the nicest products, but I would struggle to get that much power for that price with Intel.
The only thing AMD lacks in is heavily threaded games. Everything else makes AMD a better choice.
I passed out seeing this....
And why might that be?
Well first of all, Why is the graphic card in the 2nd PCIe slot? I mean it not getting enough air coming through because it's too close to the bottom surface. That's torture! I got the same board you have with 8350 and 7970. I would never have it too close to the bottom unless you have a bigger case for more space below the board. Also I understand there is not cable management feature in this case but at least have it tie using cable zip tie. This should keep it neater around the board instead of having bridges over it. Overall, I would applaud you for having an AMD system cuz me, myself and I the AMD guy.
$800 Mobo?!?! Do you mean the X4?!?!
Wat. Bought my MoBo for $50 (greenboxed)
I meant keyboard. :P
Yep... that is the Sidewinder X6 on his desk lol
Lol it's k ;)
