Build

Project DayZ

by Aviio

Description

Really wanted to get back into PC gaming and DayZ was one of the games that was taking my interest. So I built a DayZ killer of a machine and also got a few new titles in the process.

Very solid build. The 7950 is a awesome card. I have it and it runs every game I through at it.

pc_noob 1 Build 1 point 76 months ago

not a max though the one under max

Well I played Far Cry 3 at everything at max and the AA and AF down 1 each at a solid 60.

Great build. I have the same mobo in one of my builds, and it is not that great of an overclocker, only got 3.9 ghz with 3570k and cm 212 evo cooler. But it's a stable board, has great features, and a tangible price. As for your ssd, you could have gotten a Samsung 840 240gb for cheaper.

haha, "DayZ Killer" I'd like to see this thing max DayZ/Arma II. I'm just joking. Not even 680/7970 can do that. Arma 2 is a ridiculously demanding game. But yeah, very nice build. My only complaint/suggestion is the price of that SSD. $180? I hope you get some really good transfer rates out of it, or it won't be worth it. You can get a good SSD for around $1/GB

Not even $1/GB. The Samsung 840's (non pro) are around .67/GB and have the read speeds that a game would benefit from (540MB). The only downside is a 130MB write speed, which is negligible IMO when it comes to games.

Thats so true My 7950 can't play DayZ at max with it OC just to boot

Edmundoh 1 Build 1 point 76 months ago

My 670 has no problems maxing Arma 2, I play with other mods too called ACE and Blastcore which I assume has to put a little bit more stress on the game and I have everything maxed.

If it's laggy then it's the servers that are the problem.

Also using an SSD here, it's really making load times much more bearable in this game.

I doubt you can max DayZ at 1080p with all maxed AA, all grass, and maxed render distance.

Edmundoh 1 Build 1 point 76 months ago

not many can, it's because it's the server's fault. you can crank the view distance in Single player to 10,000, but online is capped to 6000 and I don't think dayZ goes anywhere near that especially with the fog.

If there was a single player version of dayZ (not too much point in that) it would run great.

darren97 1 point 76 months ago

so whats your avg framerate at dayz???

sffick 1 Build 1 point 76 months ago

Hope it works great for you. DayZ is honestly the biggest reason I decided to build a computer after not having one for two years...

Nice build, I have the same motherboard and processor and I really like them.

hdmiller610 1 Build 1 point 76 months ago

I hope you didn't pay $80 for that h60, I've seen them around for $45.

mrglen 1 point 73 months ago

Right on Bro, i built on for the exact reason! Very similar card too! Message me with your results, I have a lot of stuff to help with optimizing DayZ graphics/play too! Nice Build.

Not an OCZ hater, just thought I'd mention keep a watch on the PSU because sadly they do crash (my friends did). Great cable management.
