ASUS recently sent us their PRIME X370-PRO motherboard, so we added in the popular Ryzen 7 1700 processor and the ASUS ROG STRIX OC edition of the Radeon RX 580 to build a $1300 (USD) gaming PC. Deepcool sent us the white version of their CAPTAIN 240 EX CPU cooler to coordinate nicely with the motherboard design and we picked up the Raidmax Sigma and 16 GB of white Corsair Vengeance LPX memory to complete our black and white theme.

Be sure to check out the Completed Build with benchmarks and photos as well as the cable management video (see below).

A big thanks to ASUS for providing the motherboard and Deepcool for providing the CPU cooler we used in this build.

Nice build, I like the color scheme. Also nice to see an AMD gpu again.

Sadly, all the RX 570s and 580s are gone due to cryptocurrency... but awesome build!

but they'll be back right?

AMD will be releasing a Miner version of vega to help get the other cards back in stock at more reasonable prices.

Awesome video as always!

Watching him peel the adhesive off the backplate made me cringe a little bit. I'm sure it's perfectly safe, but I can't stand having to force anything (especially so close to the CPU socket)!

I am surprised with this case. It looks really nice.

Still not impressed with fractal's go at a case like this. Raidmax just made Fractal look outdated.

Is this build for video/photo editing or something? What's with the Ryzen 7 1700 CPU paired with the RX 580 GPU?

If it's for gaming, wouldn't the Ryzen 5 and GTX 1070 be a better combo? I guess that build is already done here though https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/s4hPxr/great-amd-gaming-build

I would be careful with that Deepcool cpu cooler. It's prone to leaking. Killed my GTX1070 randomly one night.

furioe 1 point 6 days ago

in my opinion, the cpu cooler is ugly af
