Today we’re pleased to announce Cycling Builder!

https://cyclingbuilder.com

Cycling Builder provides part selection, pricing, and compatibility guidance for cyclists and do-it-yourself bicycle builders. Whether you're building a road, mountain, or cyclocross bike, Cycling Builder can help you choose compatible parts at the best prices.

We hope you find the new site useful. Please don’t hesitate to send us feedback or product addition requests on the Cycling Builder forums.

Happy Building,
Philip

Personal Computer, Bicycle, what's the difference anyways?

skyrise 1 Build 22 points 11 days ago

The difference is you have to manually "overclock" the bicycle... with your legs. =)

ZFGeek 1 Build 11 points 11 days ago

Well, they both cost the same, anyways...custom, that is.

Steam_Works 1 Build 2 points 7 days ago

depends on the price range, apparently an entry level bike is 3-5k

tech_geek100 1 Build 4 points 9 days ago

both kill your wallet

Nater650 1 point 1 day ago

Yup

eesti 10 points 11 days ago

This hobby would make me poor tbh, I'll stick with computers for now

Lardybob 9 points 11 days ago

im a mountain biker and a pc builder so yay

tech_geek100 1 Build 1 point 9 days ago

agreed

dogemasta117 2 Builds 8 points 11 days ago

TIL how expensive building a bike is .

ZFGeek 1 Build 5 points 11 days ago

I love the new site! A fresh look...I like it!

I am noticing that bikes are super expensive when custom-built though...:( I'll still join the forum when I can to learn about it!

Now i understand cause you didn't dispatch any new build video for one year.

manirelli staff 8 Builds 1 point 9 days ago

The build videos are a limitation of the new office. We are working on finishing permitting and getting approval to start construction of our new studio space.

unicykle 3 Builds 5 points 11 days ago

Nice, It looks super clean. Congrats guys

Cicero_ 5 Builds 4 points 10 days ago

UNi! Haven't seen you in a while.

unicykle 3 Builds 2 points 4 days ago

Whats up fam? :)

gorkti200 3 Builds 1 point 10 days ago

Bröther

unicykle 3 Builds 2 points 4 days ago

I have oats

Adreaver 4 points 11 days ago

Does this mean the new responsive layout will be going live soon?

Much as I love PCPP, I spend most of my time browsing on mobile and using the desktop site on a phone is a rough experience to say the least.

philcoffman staff 7 points 11 days ago

Yes. We built CyclingBuilder in tandem with the work we did on the new responsive templates and I've been working lately on getting PCPP up on the same templates. Still ironing out styling as well as finishing out some pages that CyclingBuilder doesn't have yet (Completed Builds, Blog, etc) but it's coming along nicely. :)

Cicero_ 5 Builds 10 points 10 days ago

In tandem?

ba dum tss
philip staff submitter 10 Builds 5 points 11 days ago

It will. We have most of the layout converted over. Completed builds are the last remaining templates that need migration, and I anticipate that being finished in the next couple weeks.

HyperCyber 2 points 11 days ago

Do you have a github where we can see progress and maybe a roadmap? Maybe we could even contribute?

Javild27 3 points 9 days ago

Wow, with the chepaest frame you can get a nice, complete bicycle, this is a very expensive hobby. Can wait to see the UI implemened on PCPP

Soaruh 2 points 4 days ago

So enable PCpartpicker mobile version again?

philip staff submitter 10 Builds 1 point 4 days ago

We'll be rolling out the responsive layout, so it'll adapt automatically to mobile/tablet/desktop.

diypartsjoy 1 Build 1 point 11 days ago

I can build a better pc for that price then I could build a bicycle for that price.

Lardybob 1 point 11 days ago

i never thought this day would come

Mach-01 1 point 10 days ago

ok cool . just for fun checked out the possible most expensive cycle relative to the frame is $8380.69

RayvenOne1 1 Build 1 point 10 days ago

gg phillip. If I ever wanna build a custom bike, I now have a place I can go!

Z9CS- 1 point 10 days ago

Someone should do this but instead with car parts. Would be cool.

FancySnancy 1 point 10 days ago

that would be even more complicated

gogo809 3 Builds 1 point 10 days ago

Man, you ain't kidding there!!!!

philip staff submitter 10 Builds 1 point 8 days ago

One day...

ryansmission 5 Builds 1 point 8 days ago

It would be cool, but by the time they finished it everything will be EV and autonomous anyway. Very few people will own their own car by 2030.

Prady_Playz 1 point 10 days ago

Very interesting look! It is awesome how you guys are expanding!

Ookgluk32 1 Build 1 point 10 days ago

Wow! Looks cool! Will I be able to use my existing PCPP account with this website, or will I have to create a new one?

Potatogamer1230 1 point 9 days ago

you'll have to make a new one.

atomicdeathray 1 Build 1 point 9 days ago

I love mountain bikes

_Roller_ 1 point 9 days ago

So when are we actually going to get more PC builds and component reviews from you guys?

philip staff submitter 10 Builds 1 point 8 days ago

We're renovating our new office - when that's done we'll resume the builds and other video content.

mimiguy2 1 Build 1 point 9 days ago

9 days late, but cool (That would be April fools for the iDots)

IanJvan 1 Build 1 point 8 days ago

this is actually awsome do more, like a car or something

philip staff submitter 10 Builds 1 point 8 days ago

We have more in the pipeline for sure. The hard part is making sure that launching a new site doesn't starve the existing sites for resources.

mariofan0 1 point 8 days ago

is the UI shown in Cycling Builder coming to PCPP? I would like a clean UI like Cycling Builder.

philip staff submitter 10 Builds 1 point 8 days ago

It is. We have a few pages that need to be converted over, but that shouldn't take too much longer.

waj287 1 point 6 days ago

I now realize how expensive bikes are.

droem 1 point 6 days ago

I prefer BMX bikes, but nice job.

Is the anyway you can implement BMX bikes into the mix?

philip staff submitter 10 Builds 1 point 6 days ago

We do hope to add those in at some point, but I'm not sure when it'll happen. Our initial rollout of road/cx/mountain spread us a bit thin, so I want to make sure those areas are properly filled out before we add any additional types.

aud10_fr3ak 1 point 5 days ago

any point in the future are you going to implement E-bikes?

Memo1010 1 Build 1 point 6 days ago

Joining just for the off topic forums

assumes it has off topic
