How? DC-DC for the non primary rails sounds like a better platform to me.

I don't know, but it clearly doesn't work in the 750w unit. It should be better, but it definitely isn't in the case of the CX750.

I'm not a power supply wiz, but theoretically it should perform better that the lower wattage models.

EDIT: I wonder since the CX refresh will be using the same platform as the 750/850, will they perform better or worse?

That is not the current revision of the cx750 as reviewed by HardOCP and johnny.

Also, that review doesn't say anything about buying it so I'm assuming it was a cherry picked unit sent directly for Corsair.
