Need a power supply for 100 USD give or take 15. I've been looking at the thermaltake toughpower 750 watt , but I've gotten mixed reviews on other sites. Any suggestions?

that certainly isn't it, but there is zero reason or logic behind getting a 750 watt for this build. you can run this build on a 550 watt, but a good 650 watt is recommended. 750 is overkill to no advantage and getting an excellent one around $100 or less is difficult. the quality and performance of 650 watt psus around $100 is way better compared to 750's. if you want space for crossfire with another 390, 850-1000 watt is what you'll need.

edit: one of the best 750's on the market is usually around $90-$100 after rebates. the evga 750 G2, but like I said before, the 650 watt version is cheaper and will run this build just as well.

I also plan to overclock if that means anything.

Anyhow, radeon specifies 750watt as a minimum wattage for the 390, so humor me on this one.

It's the minnimum recommendation, only because a lot of "750W" units are unable to deliver their full wattage (like the CX750). A good 650w will be fine.

yea, I took that into account. some 290X's that had a "750" watt recommended from the manufacturer had a sticker on the box and under it it said 600 watt recommended. in any case, they are accounting for the fact that companies sell peak rated or overrated junk that says "500 watt" but can only provide 300-350, "750 watt" but can only do 450 safely or like the cx750 from popular corsair , 600 watts above 35c before shuting down and less savvy consumers buy them. usually people want the most watts, or the highest number they can see on a label, for the least amount of money, recipe for failure. MSI has to account for such nonsense.
