Hello Forums!

I'm EXTREMELY new to building PC's, I've been playing games on a laptop for quite a while and I'm ready to make my first desktop! I inherited quite a few parts from my brother's old gaming rig, but honestly I don't even know what does what yet. Let me know if you have any recommendations for parts! I love the best bang for your buck parts, and I'm hoping i don't need too many upgrades as I am so used to playing games on lowest res that I am mainly after FPS increases before trying to play games on full 1080 @60 (though my build should allow for that).

Parts List I've already bought/inherited: - Sandisk Ultra II SSD 480gb (got it for 120 when usually 160) - NZXT 210 (I read the compatibility about some bays not being usable because of the length of the 970. Does that mean i need a full tower?) - Corsair 850w power supply - Hyper 212 Evo Cooling System

Thanks for reading my most likely hopeless post. Awaiting your replies as I'm hoping to finish this by the time Star Wars Battlefront comes out!

I read the compatibility about some bays not being usable because of the length of the 970. Does that mean i need a full tower?

Nope, the 210 will work fine with most GPU's, you just have to stagger the position of long GPU's with hard drives on the rack.

The build I've proposed above includes a GPU that is only 9.2" long, this should make for a cleaner install in this particular case.
