Note: This post is kind of long So I am building a new PC this week. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/marshallbryant/saved/ It will be mostly for my freelance video editing work and personal projects. Since I don't have a ton of cash I can't get my workstation GPU just yet so the 780 in my current system along with my SSD and HDD are going into the new build for the time being.

The plan is to upgrade my AMD machine (list here, found here http://pcpartpicker.com/user/marshallbryant/saved/#view=KFbD4D ) so that I can have my workstation and my gaming machine. I was thinking of changing the mother board and CPU in it to oh let's say a 4690K and idk what mother board. I'd like to keep the budget around $550. Here is a potential list, help? http://pcpartpicker.com/user/marshallbryant/saved/#view=JrZ7YJ

When you do that, create a new post as people generally respond better/faster to posts with no replies yet. :-)

the Latest LGA1151 DDR4 skylake build which is much better than the Older Haswell H97 build in all benchmarks including Gaming:

http://us.hardware.info/comparisontable/products/220716-315137

CPU.userbenchmark.com says an i5 6600K is better than an i5 4690K by 15%

I'd go with this platform ..
