Hey everyone,

I am looking to replace my first custom built desktop as it is now 10 years old. A lot has changed since I built my first desktop PC and I would like some help building the parts list.

Budget: $700 CDN (MAX)
Location: Ontario, Canada
Use (Gaming, Rendering, etc): Gaming and Programming/General Use
Peripherals required (monitor, keyboard/mouse, etc): No peripherals required
Operating System required: Not needed
Wants: Quad-core minimum

I do have the following parts already:
- Corsair tx750 power supply
- 1 TB seagate HDD
- PCI-e Wifi adapter

So you can exclude those from the build list, or just mark them as purchased.

I look forward to the suggestions!

I am liking this intel-based build!

In terms of "bang for your buck" couldn't I go with an AMD build? i5 vs FX-6300 Comparison

I am not looking to start a fan boy argument... just looking to get the most out of my $700 budget

Just plain & simple facts..

I think u'll agree that the intel appears to be the better choice

For $300 more that is, $1000 CDN, I can recommend the Latest LGA1151 DDR4 skylake build which is much better than the Older Haswell H97 build in all benchmarks including Gaming:

CPU.userbenchmark.com says an i5 6600K is better than an i5 4460 by 43% http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-6600K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4460/3503vs2310
