Let me start by saying I already have a GTX960 GPU and Corsair TX850W power supply (dont include in budget). I would also like the ability to upgrade GPU in about a year. Budget: $650 Location: Connecticut Use : Gaming/ Multi Tasking (FFXIV, witcher 3, Star Wars Battlefronts when it comes out) Peripherals required: Optical drive Operating System required: None

I notice both went with i7's and no SSD. Most gaming builds around this price range use i5's and a SSD. What are your thoughts.

i5 + 500GB SSD. Skip the mechanical until later date.
