the main concern/question I have is about that second 8-pin CPU connector. does this come with one I can use? Is this a good PSU for this build?

Thanks!

the psu is pretty good, best for NZXT and one of FSP's best work. it comes with two 8-pin cpu connectors. you won't need this much power for your build or the second cpu power connector. and you could get a newer, high end psu like the evga G2/P2 or corsair RMi series and something in an appropriate size that isn't nearly 3 times what you need to power this build. low load efficiency is awful on this psu so you wouldn't even get better than 80+ bronze, even at full load it would be around 80+ silver at best.

Ok, thanks. That helps. I'll get a smaller EVGA then. :)

no problem. if you don't plan to add the second cpu, maybe just go for a single socket motherboard with registered ram support (if you can find one). if you will add a second cpu to this build I advise going with something like the 850 G2/P2/GS or RMi/HXi850. those come with two cpu 4+4 pin connectors natively.

thanks, I am planning on adding the second CPU later and after that another GPU which is why I picked the other PSU (besides the cool black and white theme :).

Thanks for the suggestions :)

I see. the RMi850 fits the black/white theme and the cpu cooler you chose has a black/white version.
