~1600$ Gaming Complete Build

jtn10

Budget: ~1600$

Location: US

Use: Gaming + Streaming

OS: Not Required.

Observations:

I am building this PC solely for Overwatch (Not Released yet). I want to get at least 144fps out of it. At Blizzcon they had i4790 and 770gpu to run the game. The rest I don't really care much.

I want the monitor Benq XL2411Z , Steelseries 6gv2, Steelseries Rival, SteelSeries Qck+/Heavy, 16Gb ram included in price + headset <100$ (HyperX Cloud would be my best bet)

I also don't really want this rig to hold me more than 2 years since I am waiting for Pascal and CannonLake.

Hi dude..

The Latest DDR4 skylake platform, IS DEFINITELY much better than the DDR3 Haswell Z97 by a long margin in all benchmarks including Gaming:

See the DDR4 i5-6600K ranked ahead of the i5-4690K by a whopping 14% in effective speed, and this not make-believe-Bull, it is real-time uploaded user data benchmarks: http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-6600K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4690K/3503vs2432

Also See the official intel comparison, be sure to check the 21.3 GB/s vs 34.1 GB/s Memory bandwidth ( Skylake vs Haswell ), 8 GT/s (Giga Transfers per sec) for the skylake vs 5 GT/s for Haswell, 14nm Manuf vs 22 nm..

well good for u dude..

The build is good but again the video card is future proof at 8GB and it's more for higher resolutions than 1080p.

Overwatch is a FPS made by Blizzard which most likely will be well optimized for even lower end systems. Therefore I wouldn't need the R390 for it since I mentioned I am waiting for Pascal and CannonLake which are not so far behind.

My goal is to play with max fps at most 1080p ( probably lower ).

Nice build but I don't want 1440p gaming. As you can see my build is for professional play and most likely I will play either at 1080p or lower to get highest fps possible.

Going with Radeon instead of Nvidia GTX970 would put me at a risk with the input lag. AMD is not as stable in FPS as the others.

You forgot an SSD:)

Here is an incomplete part list I made. If you can make it better I would really appreciate it or modify the builds already posted to also include an SSD and other stuff needed.

I do have mixed feelings about Skylake for now since I will build something else in late 2016 or early 2017. It would take a significant boost in FPS to actually worth it.

I would just replace the HDD with a WD Blue/Black for better performance but other than that this is pretty good

I have to put a motherboard on it and not sure which one. Also should I hassle with liquid cooler or just put a cheaper one?

As long as the chip set is Z97, Z87, and Z77 it should be fine

I updated my list but I need a case and maybe more than 500w cooling or is it ok?

I recommend changing the psu to Seasonic S12II 520 or the XFX TS 550 as both are better than Corsair's CX series

As for the case, I recommend the Corsair 240 Air

UPDATED BUILD still incomplete

Need case and modify supply maybe
