Need a build, budget 1500$-1600$, mainly use for gaming and 3D modeling.

Hi guys, I will build my first PC during Black Friday. But I need a build list now. My budget is 1500$ to 1600$(including monitor. I would like the monitor - Asus VG248QE) I need a whole build since I only have a laptop now.

For the graphic card, I prefer NAVIDA, but I dont mind AMD. I would play Games like BF4, Crysis 3 and Dying Light). I use Revit or similar to do 3D Modeling.

For the CPU, Intel is the best choice for me.

And thank you for stop here. :P

Thank you for your build list. Does R9 390X has a big different compare to R9 390?

  • 1 point

No, it's about 5% stronger and costs 30% more. Don't bother.

Take the $100 savings dropping to a 390 and switch that SSD to a ~500GB size.

I guess 390 would be good for my purpose. I would like play those game that 60+ FPS on 1080P, HIGH. Can 390 handle it?

An R9 380 or GTX960 will run the vast majority of games at 1080P high-ultra ~60FPS just fine (not ultra in some games). The 390 is actually quite competent at 1440P.

How do you think 970?

What export renderers will you be using with revit, if any? I know Autodesk uses mental ray as one of the default built-in renderer in many of their 3D modeling applications but I can't remember what revit defaults to. I image it supports 3rd party export renderers?

Yes. It does.

I am not sure. Give me one minute. I am really new to 3D Modeling.

Yes. It called mental ray, I just checked out.

Thanks you, I hope the total price of the modified build will drop like 50 or 100 Dollars. So I can use that money to buy keyboard and mouse. :P

I modified the CPU cooler and I think I am over budget after that. But I think the total price will be under 1600 bucks during Black Friday.
