You need a good CPU for Minecraft.

Don't forget a decent amount of ram. 4GB should be more than enough :D

Yes, even my HD 5850 should handle Minecraft. Now if you have something like an Intel Core2Duo E7200 like me, maybe not as much as something like an Intel i3.

So would a intel core i5 4690k be good for minecraft?

What about a AMD FX-8350?

Even my AMD A6-3600 APU had Minecraft at +60 fps.

No. You need a 5960X overclocked to 6.9GHz, quad Titan X's and 512GB of RAM.

OF COURSE IT IS ENOUGH!

On my school laptop that has an i5 4202U, 4GB of RAM and Intel HD Graphics, I can play minecraft at 50FPS with settings hovering around medium.

Even a GT 740, a $70 card can play Minecraft well...
