PC build for little brother, price range around $550

I am in need of a budget build for my little brother, it doesn't have to be the most powerful but if it could run pretty much most games, that would be wonderful. If you could keep the price within a reasonable amount of $550 that would be best. Thanks!

What does the budget have to cover? Just the box, or do we need to include monitor, OS, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc? Throwing together a $550 box now.

if you could include a cheap mouse and keyboard, as well a cheap speaker that would be best

Okeydokes. You could maybe drop the SSD and plug the money into a beefier GPU, CPU, or PSU, but this should do him fairly reasonably. My other piece of advice: if he ever wants to go for a serious gaming mouse, go to a brick-and-mortar store, because how well it fits is very important.

Alrighty. Just double-check on the PSU, particularly if you plan to overclock; that is the one component most likely to fry everything else, and what I selected was not exactly a top-end unit. I'm in fact really wondering if I should go back and try to fit a better PSU into that list.

EDIT: And if you don't overclock, either drop the CPU cooler entirely (the stock cooler is generally sufficient, if sometimes loud), or get something a bit cheaper like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

He probably won't overclocking right now so maybe it would be best to put the money of the cooler into the PSU

For the record: I don't know as much as it sounds like I do, I just spend too much time here.

There are much more knowledgeable people here.

I think that this build will be perfect for your little brother. The 950 can run most games at medium/high settings with at least 30 fps.
