Need the cheapest gaming rig that can support games like BF4, Skyrim, and GTA with 1080p resolution and 60fps. I'm trying to put one together as a Christmas gift for my brother. It needs at least 750GB of storage too. No SSD. Only peripherals would be keyboard and mouse.

gta 5 is a hell of a game to run at 60fps

Why OC-able mobo and locked CPU? More money on GPU too.

want to throw in a good mobo and not break the bank

and the gpu should be plenty (as far as i know it will max gta5 0 issues)

get the 390x, it will be slightly better. Still, there are plenty of fine motherboards for cheaper.

he only asked for 1080, 390x is a waste of $100, and yeah i guess

Couldn't I use a 4690 instead of a Skylake, save some money, and possibly get a 970 or 980?

The 390 is a better card than the 970.

the 390 is better than the 970, and it has 8g of vram (4.5g more)

Doesn't matter just don't add anything that's unnecessary
