I would like some advice on the parts i chose. I'm fairly new to PC building and i had someone pick and choose the parts from this website.

CPU Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor $163.99 @ SuperBiiz Motherboard ASRock H97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard $64.80 @ SuperBiiz Memory Crucial 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $33.99 @ Amazon Storage Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $47.66 @ SuperBiiz Video Card MSI Radeon R9 380 4GB Video Card $179.99 @ Newegg Case Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case $49.99 @ Micro Center Power Supply Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply $39.99 @ Newegg Monitor Asus VS239H-P 23.0" Monitor $139.99 @ SuperBiiz Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts
Total (before mail-in rebates) $770.40 Mail-in rebates -$50.00 Total $720.40 Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-10-31 03:27 EDT-0400 Feel free to swap the case or monitor if you feel like it. SSD would be great to have, but adds some cost. Makes loading CS:GO/LoL/Windows/Web pages a lot faster.

Put this in the "Parts List: Opinions Wanted" forum thread.

A couple of pointers to help you out in the future.

  1. This needed to be put in the "parts list opinions" thread. No big deal, the moderators will move it when they discover it. Just remember this next time.

  2. You really need to add certain things like what you'll be using the PC for, a budget, location, and any peripherals that you may need (i.e. keyboard, mouse, monitor, OS, etc.) in future posts. This gives us specific information that is vital to assisting you in gathering parts.

Now, with that being said, this is what I came up with. it comes with a SSD like you wanted.

The power supply is bad. I'd recommend a seasonic s12 or xfx xtr instead

i have heard from streamers and other professional players that a 144hz monitor is better. If i decide to get a 144hz monitor would i need to make changes on the other parts or that doesn't particularly matter.
