Photoshop / Lightroom Computer needed.

Hello,

I would like to build a computer dedicated for photo editing (photoshop and lightroom). I have a small photo studio which this computer would be used for. Each image file I deal with is around 50mb (Raw file) plus around 500mb - 2gb photoshop files.

Budget: $1500 give or take

Already have the operating system (windows 7).

Wants: would like to have a 6 core i7 processor.

I do not do much gaming. Only graphic design. Thanks!

Much better than an i7 for professional editing.. A proper Haswell-EP Workstation with a 10-bit Professional Video card..

The Supermicro X10SRL-F-B is not a workstation motherboard.

Good rule of thumb here (though not always true); a workstation board on this platform will have onboard audio, but usually will lack any form of onboard video (since workstations will usually have discrete powerful GPU's anyway).

The SRL-F-B oriented more towards server builds. This is made apparent by its onboard video (ASPEED AST2400), triple ethernet ports, plentiful PCIE 8X length slots (common length of I/O add-on cards in the enterprise industry), lean USB I/O, and lack of onboard audio.

Just get the version without the IPMI/ASPEED system (unless you have plans to use it for remote management and/or remote usage):

Saves $50, basically the same otherwise.

Thanks. the Supermicro X10SRL-F-B LGA2011 ATX Server Motherboard seems to be unavailable. What other motherboards would you recommend with a Xeon E5 processor that is available?
