It's a pretty decent budget have you had any thoughts about what you want. Small, medium BIG? Subtle or LED SHINNY!!!?

My request is that it is under 17" tall. If possible, a red coloration, but I dont really care that much

Under 17'' rules out a lot of the popular ATX cases (S340 , Phanteks Enthoo's etc..) Maybe mATX will suit better so that's where I will start.

This is where I am at, all the gaming performance you could really need and a great monitor to round out the experience.

What kind of games? If you want super competitive shooters and stuff, go with a high refresh 144hz like staffsMike has in his. Otherwise, you might like this ultrawide I picked:

This is a nice experience build as well, especially the periperhals. Very easy to drive the monitor and it's a lovely size.

Only problem with the build from the OP's perspective is the height of the case which exceeds 17".

Ah, missed that in the comments. That is pretty small. You're right, might need an mITX for those dimensions.

Still, the S340 is 17.01" x 7.87" x 17.52", so it's only baaaarely larger.

And the LG 29UM67 seems like the smartest buy for a non-competitive gaming monitor. Pretty much impossible to beat the price for an IPS, Free-Sync, 21:9 and 75hz refresh. It's perfect for most gaming builds.

agreed on the monitor, I often Ignore it but it is nice.

I made that judgement about a case height before... it didn't end well for the desk it was going under :D
