I've never built a computer and I need an upgrade from my 2010 desktop

I feel so lost on this cite; even using the part picking list is confusing. I want to play a lot of games and I want the graphics to run as smooth as possible without breaking the bank. I just got Fallout 4 and can't play it due to my current set-up... I can't spend a crazy amount and would like to keep it around $500 or if possible less. I appreciate any help! I am clueless when it comes to building computers and have no idea what goes well together. I want to be able to upgrade it more when I get paid again so any advice on how to fix it later on as well would be greatly appreciated.

Might struggle a bit. I'd recommend saving 100 dollars more for a i5 4460.

What parts do you have in your old desktop? That might be reusable? 1TB Hard drive etc....?
