If you're talking about having unused power connectors on your psu that's perfectly fine, they don't need to be used if there's nothing to use them on.

If you're talking about something different more details would be good.

SATA power connectors provide power to SATA drives, while 4pin peripheral connectors can power old IDE HDDs and ODDs, fan controllers, auxiliary power inputs in some motherboards, LED lights, and the like.
