Evidently Skylake CPUs are being manufactured on a thinner substrate than its Broadwell predecessors, with the result that some CPU coolers are causing Skylake CPUs to warp
and, in some cases, crack. (EDIT: There are no reports of cracked CPUs.) Damage can also be caused to the pins on the CPU socket. So far, only CPU cooler maker Scythe is openly admitting the problem.
