So my "recycled" PC is just going to almost complete garbage and i would like to build something. I can use a couple parts in this old build (Listed below), but Im basically gonna need help picking parts for a basically brand new PC. BUDGET - UNDER $1400. What im going to salvage: 12 GB DDR3 RAM 1x4gb and 1x8gb, 250gb WD Harddrive, maybe the CD reader but i barely use that. And for this build: I know I want an Intel I7 of some sort and probably a GeForce GTX 980, feel free to add your ideas to this! (yes i need a new case too :P )

The Xeon is basically an i7 without the intergrated graphics, so you'll be able to enjoy hyperthreading with a lower price point. It is a locked CPU though, so no overclocking. Wasn't sure if you needed a monitor, so I left that out. There's room for a 980ti if you want.
