First build ever. $600 budget

I need help with a good build primarily for games on steam such as counter strike and possibly some higher level games like fallout 4. I would like something between 500 - 600 dollars. I will also be doing research for school and watching movies. I'm willing to go higher than 600 if needed though. Thanks :D

Will run any new games high-ultra. 45-60 fps (With very few exceptions).

If you need an OS, install Linux-based OS, Ubuntu. Really customizable and free.

I still need to get a cd-drive with it?

Not for ubuntu. Download ubuntu onto a flashdrive via another computer, and plug it in the usb port on the case. For more info, go to www.ubuntu.com. If you need a drive for movies and such, they can cost as little as $20. I don't know much about cd/dvd drives, so i won't be much help in that aspect, but my general understanding is that it is similar to buying keyboards on a budget: Being able to get a fancy, expensive model is a nice luxury, but any model will do.

OS = Operating System. That would be whatever version of windows you have, if you have bought it. If you need Windows, we'll have to add it to the build, unless you already have bought windows on a disk, or have it on USB, but if you're not comfortable with transferring windows from a CD to a USB on a different computer, so that you can use it with this build, we may have to add a DVD drive to the build as well, so you can plop the disk in on your new PC.
