Simple Scrub Question, VGA compatibility?

OmniPeuchent

There is a case I am planning on buying which says it has a max capacity of 300mm VGA size. Is that the size of my graphics card? If not, how can I find out if my build is compatible? (Sorry for scrubliness.)

The first link is my build and the second is the case I'm interested in. Sadly, it isn't a case on this website so I can't add it to my build like most other ones.

Yeah, the VGA is also the GPU, not to be confused with the connector, VGA, which can display video.

You can ask for it to be added to the site here: https://pcpartpicker.com/forums/forum/19-part-additions/
As long as it isn't some custom case or has some really wonky requirements, they should add it ... eventually. (within a week I would guess, probably less)

Though... Isn't it this case? https://pcpartpicker.com/part/deepcool-case-steamcastlewhite

Okay so first off, that is a sick case not going to lie, would definitely be interested to see a build in it. Second of all, you can go to the request forum http://pcpartpicker.com/forums/forum/1-site-feedback-and-feature-requests/ and request the case to be added to the website. And to answer your question, yes. VGA length is the mas length graphics card it supports, and the one you have chosen is 280mm and will fit, but might block a drive bay or two, which will be fine.

And while I know this isn't the right part of the forums for this, I want to make some recommendations to your build, such as either changing your cpu to a locked version, dropping the cpu cooler and changing some other things, or either getting a better motherboard for an unlocked cpu. If you decide to change the motherboard, go with the Z97 chipset. If you change the CPU, you can go with probably B85 at the least, drop the cooler (as it comes with stock), drop thermal paste as it is pre-applied on stock cooler, and thats about it. Regardless for either choice, I would recommend going with a better power supply such as the Seasonic S12 520W. Sorry I typed this about as long as an essay xD

Please don't get a i5 4690K with that motherboard, it doesn't support overclocking on it and it would fry itself if it did an. Also I would suggest getting a better psu if you can afford it, a high end build should have a high end psu. With that unit you running the psu close to full load, probably about 400 watts, at full load.

I was actually in the middle of changing my build when you all posted that. . And I wrote a big response which got deleted so now I'm sad :( Long story short, I have a current budget of 1400$ TOPS, and an looking to be able to SLI two 970s down the line. How does this build look?

New build: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/7q3Qpg

This is excluding the ~20$ extra or so from the case I'm interested in

That is somewhat better. I would get a better psu, the Smart series aren't good. Also what is this for?

Gaming on a 21:9 ultra wide 1440p. High - Ultra quality on most of the biggest games, 25fps+ is acceptable, at least 30 preferred. (I'm really not picky about fps). Also watching vids and such. I want this to be a pc I'll never have to worry about replacing for at least 5-6 years
