I would like someone to spec me a motherboard, CPU, graphics card, ram, and SSD for around £1000 for the Oculus Rift. Should I spend the extra money on an i7 or will an i5 do the job just fine?

I'm in the U.K

Many thanks >.<

This would be the basic form. If you add in a cooler, you can overclock by modifying bclk: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/92sjwP

As for the full budget mentioned: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/vsGVMp

Personally, I'd go for a 6600k and a 980ti. The 6600k should be plenty strong enough, and saving money on the 6700k should allow for a very nice motherboard to pair with it. The one I suggested is fine, it just doesn't have a whole bunch of features.
