Budget recording, editing and casual gaming rig

I'm trying to build a machine to record and edit music, edit videos, and some casual modern gaming. So low noise and high processing power are my main concerns. I also have no prior components to add to the build. Medium to large size. Future upgrades. Would like to spend as little as possible, but still have a snappy responsive work horse. I'd like to stay below $800. I'm in the U.S.

Do you have a specific budget or a price range you would like to work around?

Below 500. Will that still get me a good machine? Or should I continue saving up?

It is possible to build someting below 500$ but you won't have high processing power. At best we'll be able to fit in something like the AMD 860K with an entry level graphics card. If you really want something powerfull I would advise you to wait and save a little more. For 800$ you could have something very solid.

Ok. That's only another $300, I suppose that is doable.

That's the best I could do. You can upgrade the GPU later. I managed to get a monitor in the build.
