Problem with new SSD

I recently got a samsung 850 evo SSD and it has a very small scratch on the front. I bought this brand new, does anyone know why there would be a scratch?

Here are five pictures of the scratch: http://imgur.com/6qNqoxe,w6OyLmW,txAgbBH,FbXvxEG,2eHJLLT

If you are really concerned, send it back! There shouldn't be any issue though.

I bought it from jet.com and opted to pay for return shipping to get a discount. I added some pictures, do you think it is a big enough problem to return it?

It looks like a minor surface scratch. I would be really annoyed, but I probably wouldn't return it unless the scratch has actually dented the casing even a small amount. If there is even the slightest dent or indentation, they should pay for return shipping and a refund/replacement!

There is no dent just the scratch. The inside packaging was a little bit dirty as well. Do you think Samsung would replace it for me?

I think so. If something is sold as new, it shouldn't have obvious damage. The scratch will not affect performance one would think, but it would still bother me. It seems like it was a drive that was returned by someone else then re-packaged and sold as new which is not cool. Amazon does the same thing occasionally and I always call them on it, ask for a replacement etc.

Thank you for giving me advice on this. I decided to email Samsung and ask for a replacement.

Probably just a manufacturing issue. If it has no problems running don't worry, if it does, send it back.
