Need a gaming/productivity build for 600 usd. I'm broke af, so that is all I can go. I would also like to either buy from newegg or amazon if possible. I already have an i5-3550, so I'm gonna use that. Need a monitor/kbm, and not spending more than 20$ on windows. If i have to spend more I am just gonna go linux. Thanks for everyone who takes the time!

careful when getting a sandy bridge board with an ivy bridge cpu, you may need to upgrade the bios of these suggested builds' sandy motherboards before using your ivy bridge cpu with them.

i wouldn't want to be in a position where your system wont POST due to a bios update, especially when you are tight on cash

IF you have access to a sandy bridge cpu to update the bios for FREE, (from a friend/relative etc.) then pick one of these other builds and not mine, ELSE here's mine

good luck finding windows that cheap/enjoy linux

I've secured windows for 20 on kinguin, And every LGA1155 board isn't compatible with every LGA1155 chipset processor? Will this combo work? http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gab75md3h

Edit: I have seen quite a few people buy win from kinguin, no problem

yeah that one should work fine

when buying motherboards its a good idea to check the cpu support list

your specific cpu is supported by that motherboards' oldest bios, so you should have no problems, nice.

Just buy an old PC that's destroyed other than the case with the Windows 7 Product Key sticker still in tact, download the ISO, and viola, Windows 7 for the price of the case. :)

I'd advise avoiding the Biostar board. Also, you can get a much better deal on a more reputable PSU.

Good choice on the keyboard/mouse though, bought those for my own PC and they are great for the money.
