Hey guys. I am in need of a PC build. My maximum budget is $1000 USD, but I already have a hard drive, Win 7, optical drive, keyboard, mouse, and monitor. I will be using this for playing games such as Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront, and GTA V, as well as running Solidworks and Creo Parametric. What would you guys recommend?

Would the R9 390 have any real benefits over the GTX 970 in CAD applications?

no CAD usually favours NVIDIA's CUDA implementation but in this case the 390 has a big advantage with Async shaders since Autodesk switched over to Direct3D and away from OpenGL across almost all of its product line.

May I ask why you included a water-cooler on a a CPU that can't (naturally) overclock?

Fair enough. Could I save even more when choosing a Haswell CPU instead?
