I need a productivity PC Build...light video editing, light virtual lab studying as well.
One build With and One w/out a OS,
I rather a Full ATX mobo.
Something like this would be great. The Xeon 1230v5 is essentially a locked i7. With 16gb of ram and the Xeon, you will not be limited for video editing.
The inexpensive GPU is because the Xeon does not have integrated graphics.
Overall, this will be a great productivity build with plenty of power for multitasking because of the powerful Xeon.

You dont need to get servergrade boards for that Xeon, it can run on Haswell boards.
The Skylake Xeon cannot run on Haswell boards. It can only run on the C232 chipset.
Sorry i was thinking this was the V3 i see my mistake
No problem, I figured that was what happened. It's not a very distinct name difference, haha
What would you add or upgrade if I dont need an OS?
Barring the need for a video card or a desire to overclock, I'd go with a faster SSD.
You could even go X99. Really pushing it at this budget though.
any other Ideas, I would like to order parts later today. I am still up in the air about a SKYLAKE I5 OR I7 for what I will be mostly doing.
Well I have something but I have a question, do you want a decent GPU GTX 960 or a crappier one with a better CPU? i7-4790k and you can OC
I was just thinking of using the integrated gpu in the I7 to be honest.
One moment then, I have to remake it
