I am trying to run games such as battlefield and willing be using software such as Autocad and Revit. My budget is about 800 to 1200 USD. I'd prefer to have an Intel in as my cpu, I also like windows 7. I have a 1tb external hdd.

At this point you really want Windows 10. The free update window is closing fast and Microsoft is going to be ending support for Windows 7 much sooner then was originally expected.

May I ask why the xeon over the i7?

Since you are going to have the dedicated GPU the Xeon saves money. In this case the Xeon is basically an i7 without the integrated graphics.

If you wanted to get closer to your top budget you could most likely afford an i7 Skylake build. I was simply trying to keep the cost down were I could.
