It's usually needed to install Windows or also used to backup files on disc. Sometimes people still buy a game or program on disc. They are dirt cheap.

Since they are dirt cheap, OP can just wait to get that because the only immediate use would probably be toget the OS installed. Then he could get a better PSU. BTW I didn't downvote you.

You would downvote a build idea for being 7 pounds over for a way to install an OS. The PSU is sufficient to power the build. This isn't a high power guzzling build. lol

This is the best PSU I see in the price range and it still barely goes over 880.
