Here's a challenge: $2k (AUD) budget. Is it possible to get a 1440p gaming PC w/ monitor?

Hi,

Been browsing these forums for a while, learning heaps. First time PC builder, just want to see what is possible. Planning to possibly build halfway through this year.

I've got a $2k AUD budget, maybe can stretch to $2.2k. Is it possible to build a gaming PC that can run games at 1440p well, but also includes a 1440p monitor?

Is this a good start? https://au.pcpartpicker.com/guide/Jxttt6/ultimate-value-skylake-overclock-gaming-pc-20-march-2016

Cheers!

If you are waiting a little while, it would be a wonderful idea to check out NVIDIA's Pascal and AMD's Polaris GPUs..

The HBM2.0 based PASCAL is purported to be a Quantum-leap for NVIDIA.. NVIDIA Themselves declaring their PASCAL series to be 10 times performance of the current GTX 900 series MAXWELL..

At the Present moment, The Fury is a monster at 1440p..

Ah thanks for that. I'm reading that PASCAL is having some problems with development? But will definitely keep an ear out. Is there some hierarchy with brands of the R9 Fury?

The ASUS STRIX and the Sapphire Nitro are listed as Tier-1 Fury's by the Tomshardware GPU Tier-list..

But almost all Fury's are pretty standard..
