Hey i got given a Xion XON--700P12N is it a good reliable psu that i can use or should i buy a new one
I dont have the box but its a xion 700 watt power suply and the model number is XON-700P12N
what are the specs of your system?
I only recall seeing a similar psu from Zion with the model number "14N" on it, but it was a turd. no reason to expect this is better. buy a new one.
What made it soo bad?
Probably junk internal components and therefore awful performance. That's how most cheapo units end up. I'd replace for sure.
Ok thanks for the help im going to buy a new psu
lots of things. the cables, no active pfc (it's a very old design) and low efficiency to name a few. here's an old review: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story4&reid=109
the only info I can find on the exact model number you posted is that it has dual 12v rails rated at 20/22A, so this likely isn't even a psu capable of more than 450-480 watts on the +12v.
