Is it worth me buying a Corsair RM650W?

Hi,

I just bought a Corsair RM650x Power supply and wanted to know is it worth me paying so much for it?

Previously I had a EVGA White 500w PSU for my budget gaming system. which was enough for my system but did suddenly fail on me, shutting my computer down completely. I returned it under my 1 year warranty from amazon and hence went after a quality unit leading to me purchasing this.

However, I am now slightly regretting it now as I could have bought an ssd and a power supply for that amount (£80)

Is it better for my money to go for something slightly cheaper or keep with this order?

My build: Intel i3 4170 AMD Sappire R9 270X MSI E45-M-V2 Motherboard 8GB DDR3 Kingston Hyper X 2 1TB HDD

The unit itself is very good, not much more better on the market for its price point. But it is overkill for your system. A 500 Watt unit would be more then enough. Having said that by the time you ship it back you will be out of pocket a bit and with a 10 year warranty it should be useful going forward for larger systems
