The 850 EVO contains the OS and various games and editing software, while the WD HDD contains more games, music/videos/pictures, and archived editing projects. I'm wondering what I need to do, if anything, to smoothly transfer everything over to the new setup.

You could just clone your old storage device (the one that contains the OS) onto your SSD. By doing that, your data would be carried over, plus you would save the 140$ you're spending on win 10 as you could use your existing OS. You could do the same thing with your HDD.
