Bought the computer from a guy and I forgot the power cord. Will I need to buy a good power cord for it or can I use my old one from my computer.

As long as both power supplies have similar wattage, the cord for a 1500w is much thicker and stronger than the one for a 400w.

the other one was 400w the one i have is 650w. so is it safe? if not what power cord do i have to buy

any good quality three prong cord will run a 650W PSU. it is only six amps.

Look at the cord on your hair dryer that is 1500 watts or your iron (or your mom or sister's or girlfriends if you don't have a hairdryer or an iron) and you'll see it really doesn't matter as long as it is a three prong cord.
