To GTX 1080 or not to GTX 1080

First time builder, was wondering if I should change to the 1080. I am trying to future proof as much as possible. All other suggestions on other parts are extremely welcome as well.

For 1080 resolution, the 1070 is perfect. If you went with a 1080 video card, then your FPS in Fallout 4 would be up to 200 frames per second on ultra. (based on my personal experience)

Do you want to move to 2K or 4K monitor?

Was trying to stay at 1080p so that future games would run better as well.

then the 1070 would work great for you.

whatever you do don't get the NEX 650.

Is it really that bad?

You can get better for similar or less.

I'm aware, but it's not horrible. I got that impression from his comment

being that it doesn't even perform as advertised, yes. it won't wake up in the night and kill anyone though. with all the options available on the market a better question for this would be "is it really that good to choose over a half dozen literally better power supplies?".

Great point

Why?

because it isn't very good. it barely meets it's rated efficiency, the platform design is very out of date and it has some lower tier internal components. the 650 GQ is essentially the fixed update and it's the same price.

Like Pureblackfire mentioned. whatever you do avoid the NEX G1, get the GQ

man, is there a way to sticky threads on here? a million the same questions on the same hardware in consecutive threads. so many times the same exact questions asked back to back threads and the same bunk hardware keeps popping up. this is like an endless game of whack-a-mole.
