My first build. Im not looking for people to change my whole build I just want to know if this will work for my gaming needs over the next 3 years.. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/3FVdHN
you have a cpu cooler, but your cpu comes with one. and you have an overclocking motherboard but teh CPU won't overclock. You should change the CPU to the 'K' version for a few bucks more with your parts. (The K does not have the cooler so you will keep it in the build)
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/3FVdHN How about this..is this a Better build
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
A -k cpu to overclock, faster ram, better psu, and this selection of coolers are better.
The parts in the list are all over the place and you are overshooting your build for your resolution to be honest.
You can save $150 ore more depending on the compromise you are willing to take on quality of parts.
I would recommend going with the H170 Gaming 3 motherboard instead of the Z170 M5 since you have a locked CPU (you wont need the unlocked one at 1080P) and would cut the GPU to the 1060 Gaming X 6GB of MSI and upgrade the PSU to the 550W G2 and change the fans to the AF120 and not the SP120 which are meant for radiators.
I was even able to bump the SSD to a proper 850 EVO 250GB SSD and still saved about $150.00.
I added a Cryorig m9i as it will give less noise than the stock intel cooler but its entirely optional here.
